DNA? AND? is a collective where special kids play improvised music with professional musicians. In this way the kids can create and explore their own music, based on their own parametres and specialities. This exploration is often not based on rationality, technique or notation. Instead we genuine musical qualities as prescence, timing and energy are often to be recognized.
DNA? AND? is Oslo-based, and has existed since 2013, with annual workshops and more frequent gigging. They have been closing act at the All Ears festival and have played at Blow Out in Oslo and Sonic Protest in Paris, and have collaborated with legendary musicians like Hans Magnus Ryan and Hamid Drake.
DNA? AND? aims at giving people a chance to meet through music across borders of normality, contribute to tear down the walls between those who have- and those who lack disabilities, and make everyone understand that not only can the kids learn something from us. We can also learn from them.
DNA? AND? Is run by Bjarne Larsen, Stina Moltu, Harald Fetveit and some times Anla Courtis.
